Today marks a major milestone for the Soar Atlas community with the launch of 3D Mode. 3D Mode instantly transforms over one million georeferenced maps and satellite images into explorable 3D landscapes, offering users entirely new perspectives directly in their browser.
“3D Mode is an important milestone for our platform,” says Soar CEO Amir Farhand.
“For too long, the most powerful geospatial tools have been confined to specialists and technical users. By bringing together immersive 3D experiences and accessible mapping technology, we're helping more people explore, understand, and interact with the world around them. Our vision is simple: to make geospatial knowledge easier to access and more useful for everyone.”

3D Mode elevates Earth observation by rendering a decade of Sentinel and Landsat archives in real-world terrain, making satellite analysis an immersive, multidimensional experience. Historical timelapses can also be draped across 3D terrain in just a few clicks.
A full suite of annotation and storytelling tools has been designed for creators including; 3D objects, markers, text, military symbology and elevation measurements. The canvas tool also allows users to draw directly onto landscapes.

Built-in cinematic Tour Controls allow seamless flythroughs between custom waypoints across the map, which can be used to produce guided map videos directly within the browser. Users can also capture screenshots and save their 3D projects for external sharing.
The Beta release marks the initial phase of the update, with further 3D assets, annotation systems, and interactive features in development. Soar Atlas is expanding what's possible in geospatial technology, making powerful mapping data more accessible to people, organisations, and communities around the world.

Bringing 3D Mode to life has been a huge undertaking, and we're excited to finally share it with the world. This launch marks a new chapter for Soar Atlas and transforms how maps and satellite imagery can be explored on the platform.
